YG Acoustics Sonja 3.3
Our Reference range offers the very best that can be achieved in accuracy and musicality. We are honored that these models are some of the most awarded loudspeakers in the world. They combine advanced materials with cutting edge science and engineering. Designed without compromise, their singular aim is transporting listeners into the heart of the music.
Sonja 3.3 is a true, reference loudspeaker with the life-like, natural sound which is the hallmark of YG. Capable of delicate holographic imaging while still recreating concert scale audio, it is one of the very best loudspeakers in the world. With the revolutionary Lattice tweeter, twin midrange and twin bass drivers, driven by our innovative Ultracoherent crossover, it combines astonishing sonic performance with fine engineering and craftsmanship.
The Reference speakers are structured from high-grade aerospace aluminum, machined in-house to an incredible precision. They are meticulously hand-built by experts in our Colorado and Cambridge workshops.
The Reference 3 models include new technologies and design innovations based on novel theoretical models, detailed multi-domain simulations and thousands of hours of listening. The end result: loudspeakers which convey every nuance of emotion, each musical cue from the tiniest microdetail to the visceral impact of the most thunderous crescendo.
An entirely new, hybrid Lattice tweeter uses a novel airframe in a specially-selected aerospace alloy, machined by YG Acoustics. It delivers exceptionally low distortion over a huge bandwidth, with wide angular dispersion to support a large sweet-spot.
The dual 15 cm (6”) midrange and dual 26 cm (10.25”) bass drivers use advanced motors with extremely powerful magnets, driving YG proprietary aluminum cones to deliver industry-leading performance.
Groundbreaking, third-generation Ultracoherent crossovers apply a deep understanding from simulation to deliver performance never before possible.

Bass
97/100
Dual 26 cm (10.25") BilletCore woofers, claimed usable output below 20 Hz and exceptionally low distortion. Given the ≥8" drivers, cabinet mass and spec'd extension, this maps to reference-class bass authority and extension.
Mid
96/100
Dual 15 cm (6") BilletCore mid drivers and ultracoherent crossovers with ±15° phase alignment and excellent pair matching indicate superb timbral accuracy, coherence and vocal presence.
Treble
95/100
Lattice hybrid tweeter with stated response to 40 kHz and low distortion; predicts very refined, detailed treble with good extension and controlled presence without evident harshness.
Soundstage Imaging
96/100
Phase-optimised crossover design, computational layout and excellent pair matching support wide, well-layered soundstaging and precise imaging with stable focus.
Dynamics
96/100
Very low distortion, high-field-strength motors and large cabinet/driver complement imply outstanding macro- and micro-dynamics with substantial headroom.
