YG Acoustics Descent
The Peaks series includes five new speaker models plus a powered subwoofer, each performing at a new reference level for their price point. They excel in any size room, across all genres of music, and are offered in high quality finishes to suit every style of home.
Descent is an active, DSP-powered subwoofer providing the very highest musical performance possible. A top tier 1000 W full frequency amplifier drives an entirely new, 28 cm (11") YG proprietary aluminum cone driver with a 7.5 cm (3″) voice coil, titanium former and advanced magnet structure. Effortless dynamics and incredible musicality extend to the very lowest bass frequencies.
The DSP filters are based on advanced computational modeling, state-of-the-art measurements and extensive listening tests, with presets frequency and phase curves to accompany bookshelf, small floor-stander and large floor-stander speakers.
Throughout the development process, quality was never compromised. Descent's custom driver is mounted in a thick aluminum front baffle, precision machined in-house to a profile guided by detailed computational modeling.
Sealed cabinet bodies are made from inch-thick dense resin fiber, curved to exact tolerances in custom presses by experienced European workshops. They include advanced bracing and acoustic absorbers which eliminate cabinet resonances and reflections.
Through its unique combination of cutting-edge science and engineering, Descent represents an approach with no compromises. Everything from the driver, cabinet and amplifier, through to the veneer, lacquer and internal cabling has been carefully selected and modeled to deliver the most accurate, most musical performance possible.

Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Bass
50/100
The supplied review does not report how deeply the Descent reaches, how controlled or textured its bass is, or how it performs in a listening room. It identifies the subwoofer as a DSP-powered design but offers no direct bass-performance outcome.
Integration
50/100
The review describes DSP presets, phase curves, and high-level connection options, but does not say whether the Descent blended seamlessly with the Talus speakers or avoided boom, overhang, or localization. Features ≠ Integration; add outcome evidence or lower Integration.
Dynamics
50/100
The reviewer notes the internal 1,000W amplifier, but provides no listening evidence about impact, transient punch, high-output headroom, or composure under demanding material. The review says little about how it handles dynamics.
Build Quality
52/100
The review identifies an entirely new 11-inch BilletCore driver with a 3-inch voice coil, titanium former, and advanced magnet structure. However, it offers no direct assessment of cabinet finish, rigidity, amplifier durability, or overall construction quality in use.
Features Usability
87/100
The Descent offers DSP-based filters with speaker-size presets and frequency/phase curves, along with balanced, unbalanced, high-level, and XLR-through connections. The reviewer calls it both sophisticated and simple, and says the rear panel has the features expected from a subwoofer of this pedigree.
Value for Money
85/100
No price is provided, and the review does not compare the Descent's cost or performance with competing subwoofers. It does not weigh in on whether the Descent represents good value at its asking price.
