Wilson Audio Submerge
Submerge
Found deep in the grooves of your favorite LPs, and concealed in the soundtrack of the movies you can't wait to watch, is the critical low-frequency information that provides the sense of space of the recorded music hall and the impact of the explosions the movie hero narrowly escapes. Submerge reveals the tension and sonic foundation below the surface of your audio experience.
Advanced Enclosure Technology
Our precision-engineered and handcrafted X-Material enclosures, paired with an S-Material front baffle, bring you a level of vibration control that's simply without equal in the center channel market. Every note, every whisper, every thunderous explosion is delivered with unparalleled clarity and authority.
Cutting-Edge Hardware
The 1,600 watt amplifier is uniquely mounted to the massive heatsink plate found on the rear of the enclosure. Coupling the amplifier to the T6061 Aluminum back plate efficiently transfers heat from the internal components of the amplifier to the decorative heatsink fins, the design of which is inspired by the mountain ranges surrounding Wilson Audio.Remove the handcrafted front grille to expose the sleek aluminum baffle design. The attachment hardware for this mass of metal is strategically placed underneath grille post catchers, ensuring a clean and visually pleasing appearance without compromising functionality.Taking a page from the Master Subsonic’s playbook, the combination of thick X-Material as a substrate coalesced with the bulk of the aluminum baffle create a truly solid and extremely damped surface for the Submerge driver to be secured to.

The Submerge delivers deep, pressurizing bass with the speed, texture, and spatial lift expected of a reference system. Part Time Audiophile found its flexible DSP and controls restored missing low octaves while expanding midrange richness and soundstage scale. A 1,600-watt amplifier, time-aligned integration, and inert composite enclosure make this a formidable foundation for ambitious music and cinema systems.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Pros
Restores deep low-frequency extension with explosive, room-pressurizing transient impact while retaining texture and control.
Exceptional integration can add weight, ambience, and lower-midrange fullness without boom, overhang, or loss of speed.
Flexible front-panel adjustment, balanced and unbalanced connections, and DSP bypass support precise matching with sophisticated systems.
Substantial X-Material/V-Material construction and amplifier isolation are engineered to minimize vibration-related interference.
&
Cons
Its 250-pound enclosure demands considerable space and professional, patient setup to achieve optimum integration.

Bass
92/100
In the Part Time Audiophile review, the Submerge restored room-diminished low octaves while adding the texture, space, and low-frequency dynamics the reviewer had been seeking. Floor-tom transients were described as explosive and room-pressurizing, while the added extension brought weight and fullness without boom, overhang, or slowed bass.
Integration
95/100
The strongest listening evidence is exceptionally positive: the reviewer called it “the easiest sub to integrate” and reported that the improvement came with “no downside, boom, overhang, or loss of speed.” Once properly installed, the Submerge and Alexx V reportedly faded away, leaving a larger, more naturally dimensional musical presentation.
Dynamics
94/100
Reviewers heard substantial transient impact and physical scale rather than merely extra low-frequency level. The floor toms had explosive snap and pressurization, and the system’s reach into the lowest octaves was described as intense in a thrilling way; the manufacturer material also emphasizes cinematic impact and spatial information.
Build Quality
92/100
The Submerge is a 250-pound enclosure built from Wilson’s X-Material and V-Material, with a purpose-designed 12-inch dual-spider driver and 1,600-watt amplifier. The amplifier mounting and large heatsink assembly are designed to control vibration and dissipate heat, and the reviews present the construction as notably substantial and carefully engineered.
Features Usability
91/100
Front-facing analog controls provide gain, phase/delay, ELF trim, and low-pass-frequency adjustment, with indicator rings intended to make repeatable settings straightforward. Balanced and unbalanced inputs, DSP bypass, and compatibility with external processors or Wilson’s ActivXO crossover give the Submerge considerable system flexibility, although setup still benefits from careful installation.
Value for Money
85/100
At roughly $31,000-$32,000, the Submerge is a highly specialized luxury component intended for systems such as Wilson’s Alexia, Alexx, and XVX. The review says a pair can elevate such a system for owners with the space and resources, but it does not directly compare the asking price with competing subwoofers or make a stronger value claim.
