The Wilson Audio LōKē brings deep, textured bass and unusually natural integration to serious stereo systems. SoundStage Solo found its output tight, precise and free from boom, while The Absolute Sound highlighted pitch definition and fuller tonal balance. With 500 watts, sophisticated DSP tuning and an inert enclosure, this high-end active subwoofer expands scale and space without stealing focus from the music.

Pros

Deep, punchy and richly textured bass remains tight and free from boom or overhang.

Exceptional integration: it blends seamlessly with main speakers and adds foundation without calling attention to itself.

Extensive DSP, filtering, phase and EQ controls support precise room and speaker matching.

Substantial X-Material cabinet construction and finish earn strong praise for inertness and build quality.

Cons

The single-line LCD and click/turn controller make its deeply nested setup menus cumbersome and time-consuming to navigate.

Premium pricing makes it best suited to systems able to fully exploit its performance and finish.

Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.

Bass

96/100

Reviewers consistently found the LōKē exceptionally deep, controlled and articulate. SoundStage reported "zero boom," no overhang and deep, powerful bass with rich textural variation, while Audiophile Style measured extension to 14Hz in-room and found the bottom end tight and properly aligned with the band. The Absolute Sound also praised its remarkably precise pitch definition and ability to move substantial air.

Integration

96/100

Integration is a standout: SoundStage called it a "master integrator," describing a homogeneous low-end presentation that blended seamlessly with the main speakers. Audiophile Style similarly found that it did not overpower or call attention to itself, while Hi-Fi News heard near-miraculous transformation even with LS3/5As. Its contribution is repeatedly described as foundational and natural rather than as an obvious added bass source.

Dynamics

94/100

The LōKē delivers serious physical impact when recordings demand it. Hi-Fi News described its effect as a system being injected with steroids and said, "This box rocks," while The Absolute Sound found it able to "crank it out" on bombastic pop and rock. SoundStage also heard punchy, percussive bass and enough deep-energy output to expose loose furnishings in the room.

Build Quality

94/100

Reviewers describe an unusually substantial and carefully executed cabinet, with SoundStage praising its inert X-Material enclosure, internal bracing, and peerless finish. Hi-Fi News noted the handsome, heavy 50kg construction, robust floor-contact system and thoughtful provision of castors for positioning. Audiophile Style also praised the excellent finish and reported that the amplifier had endured rigorous testing.

Features Usability

88/100

The LōKē offers extensive connection and tuning flexibility, including balanced and RCA inputs and outputs, selectable filtering, phase adjustment, delay, and parametric EQ. Its castors also make experimentation with placement more manageable before fitting the supplied Spike & Diode feet. However, Hi-Fi News found the single-line display and click/turn control cumbersome and time-consuming for navigating the deeply nested setup menus.

Value for Money

81/100

At around $8,750-$8,950 in the US, £9,500 in the UK, and AU$13,995 in Australia, the LōKē is firmly a premium purchase. Reviews are highly enthusiastic about its performance and offer strong recommendations, but Hi-Fi News notes that £9,500 is "hardly chicken-feed," and the reviews provide little direct comparison with similarly priced subwoofer rivals. The asking price is best suited to systems where its exceptional integration and finish can be fully appreciated.
