Legacy Audio Wavelet II
Transform your listening experience and unlock the full potential of your audio system with the Legacy Wavelet II. This revolutionary DAC/preamp and digital crossover is the ultimate solution for audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts seeking pristine sound quality. The Wavelet II tackles the most common and challenging acoustic problem: your room. It’s the essential tool for Legacy Audio room correction, ensuring the sound you hear is exactly as the artist intended.
Legacy Wavelet II: Your Room’s Ultimate Audio Solution
Rooms are acoustic battlegrounds, and resonances wreak havoc on frequencies below 500Hz, muddying bass and obscuring details. The Wavelet II is a powerful DSP for home theater and stereo systems, using advanced processing to analyze your room’s unique acoustic signature. It makes precise calculations to reduce destructive resonant energy up to 40 milliseconds late, resulting in a dramatic improvement in tonal balance and pitch definition. The difference isn’t subtle; it’s a revelation.
Seamless Integration and Uncompromising Performance
The Legacy Wavelet II effortlessly integrates into any high-end audio setup from vinyl to DAC. The Wavelet II accommodates both analog and digital sources with its versatile connectivity options.
Two pairs of balanced XLR and two pairs of unbalanced RCA inputs let you connect your analog gear without fear of digital artifacts. An advanced filtering (apodizing) circuit corrects the pre-ringing inherent in digital codecs, preserving the integrity of your music.
Enjoy flawless digital playback with asynchronous USB audio up to 32-bit/384kHz, AES/EBU, SPDIF, and TosLink inputs. The Wavelet II processes all signals at a staggering 64-bit depth, providing a resolution more than a trillion times finer than a standard CD.
User-Friendly Setup and Future-Proof Design
Setting up your perfect soundstage is a breeze with the Wavelet II. Each unit comes with a precision-calibrated microphone and a Wi-Fi adapter for wireless control. The intuitive app, available for iOS and Android, puts full control of the Wavelet II right in your hands. Plus, the Wavelet II is designed to be endlessly upgradeable, with the ability to download firmware updates directly, ensuring your system remains on the cutting edge of audio technology.
By assuring that all frequencies arrive with perfect timing and decay naturally, the Legacy Wavelet II delivers an immersive and true-to-life listening experience that will redefine your expectations.

The Wavelet II turns a complex stereo or active system into a more focused, precise musical whole, combining multiway crossover control with sophisticated room correction. HomeTheaterHifi found tighter bass, sharper images, and transparent handling of analog and digital sources, while The Absolute Sound highlighted its reflection control and broad loudspeaker compatibility.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Pros
Room correction delivers sharper image placement and stronger soundstage detail by addressing reflections.
Integrates speakers and subwoofers with notably tighter, more precise bass while preserving dynamics.
Extensive crossover, input, wireless-control, and upgrade options make it unusually flexible for two-channel active systems.

Cons
Web-based volume control is less intuitive for one-handed use because it relies on separate coarse and fine sliders.
The supplied plastic remote feels inexpensive relative to the processor’s premium positioning.
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 92/100
Reviewers find the Wavelet II’s processing genuinely transformative when integrating speakers, subwoofers, and room acoustics. Its presentation is described as focused, precise, and detailed without becoming sterile, with particular gains in bass control and image specificity.
Tonal Balance and Musicality
94/100
In HomeTheaterHifi’s system, calibration produced a satisfying speaker/subwoofer balance that did not invite further level tweaking, while bass became significantly tighter. Audiophilepure also heard smoother, better-articulated transitions from deep bass through the lower midrange, and The Absolute Sound praised its ability to help virtually any speaker contend with room problems.
Resolution and Detail
92/100
With correction engaged, performers and instruments became clearer in space, and the reviewer could more precisely locate the singer. HomeTheaterHifi specifically calls clarity, precision, and detail without sterility the Wavelet’s calling cards, while The Absolute Sound highlights improvements in soundstage detail through reflection correction.
Digital Performance
91/100
Both analog and digital sources were reported to pass through transparently, with no noticeable loss of resolution. The additional A-to-D stage was not found to audibly compromise playback, and the apodizing filter helped tame harshness in older or less polished recordings.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
88/100
The enclosure is predominantly black anodized aluminum and uses an extra-thick matching front panel, giving the unit a substantial, contemporary presentation. Reviewers also describe it as a pleasure to use, although the available coverage says little about long-term durability or internal construction.
Features Connectivity
87/100
The Wavelet II combines USB, AES/EBU, S/PDIF, and TosLink digital inputs with multiple balanced and unbalanced analog inputs and eight channels each of XLR and RCA outputs. Its room-measurement microphone, adjustable input trims, configurable two-, three-, or four-way crossover, wireless app/browser control, and upgradeable hardware and firmware make it an unusually flexible processor for active and subwoofer-integrated systems.
Value for Money
89/100
The available pricing spans the earlier $4,950 version and the later $7,950 Wavelet II, close to the stated $8,000 current price. HomeTheaterHifi notes that directly competing enthusiast products generally cost more for comparable flexibility, while also finding the Wavelet capable of replacing three expensive analog components in its reference system.
