The Legacy Signature SE: A High-End Floor Standing Speaker
The Legacy Signature SE speakers are a hallmark of high-end audio, offering exceptional performance and versatility. These floor standing speakers are bi-amp/bi-wire ready, allowing audiophiles to optimize their system with ease. The Signature SE features a unique sealed enclosure design and includes rear contour switches, giving you the ability to fine-tune the sound for your specific room and placement.
Utilizing our renowned Dual Air Motion Tweeter system, these speakers deliver an incredibly transparent and airy top end. The Signature SE’s detailed sound and gorgeous design makes it an excellent choice for any serious listener.
Signature SE employs dual 10” woofers, paired to reduce distortion, while the sealed alignment couples to the floor boundary to achieve highly controlled low frequency extension.
Signature SE has the ability to be placed very close to the back wall thanks to its sealed box alignment. Taut bass lines emerge with solid punch and no over-hang.
The ribbon drivers of the Legacy Dual Air Motion Tweeter system are the very same used in the Legacy Focus series (positioned the same listener height) and employ planar and folded diaphragms suspended in a neodymium magnetic force. A natural fullness in the treble is exhibited that reminds us why we love high-end audio so much.

Legacy Audio’s Signature SE delivers deep, taut bass, explosive dynamics and a boldly revealing AMT presentation from a room-friendly sealed tower. HomeTheaterHifi found exceptional low-end extension, precise imaging and flexible placement, while newrecordday praised its fast transients, wide scale and authoritative control. Adjustable trims let listeners fine-tune its airy detail for a thrilling full-range performance.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Pros
Deep, powerful bass remains taut, pitch-defined and free of bloat, with extension that can make a subwoofer optional.
Delivers tremendous dynamics, crisp transients and high output without sacrificing clarity.
Sealed enclosure and bass/treble trim switches offer unusually useful placement and tonal flexibility.
First-rate cabinet finish and robust construction complement wide-scale imaging and detailed resolution.
&
Cons
The forward, analytical treble balance can sound bright or fatiguing without careful toe-in and use of the treble trim.
Midrange clarity can trade away some warmth, body and vocal bloom for listeners who prefer a richer presentation.
The large, heavy cabinets need careful setup; one review found the supplied feet less stable on thick carpet.
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 92/100
The Signature SE is consistently described as a powerful, highly resolving loudspeaker with unusually deep, controlled bass and a large-scale presentation. Its balance leans explicit and analytical rather than warm, with trim controls and careful setup useful for tailoring the upper range and presentation.
Bass
97/100
HomeTheaterHifi measured useful in-room output to roughly 26Hz and found the dual 10-inch woofers both exceptionally powerful and notably free of bloat. NewRecordDay likewise calls the bass deep, taut, defined, and authoritative, with convincing kick-drum weight and clear pitch definition.
Mid
88/100
The midrange is praised for smooth neutrality, clarity, and fine vocal texture; HomeTheaterHifi also found it capable of giving lower registers weight without muddying voices. NewRecordDay found the presentation somewhat leaner in body and bloom, with vocal texture more apparent in upper harmonics than chesty fundamentals.
Treble
89/100
Reviewers heard a smooth, detailed and airy top end with fast resolution from the AMT system. It can be energetic or analytical, however: HomeTheaterHifi noted excess upper-mid/lower-treble energy before adjustment, while NewRecordDay found the treble trim beneficial for longer, less fatiguing listening.
Soundstage Imaging
91/100
HomeTheaterHifi reports sharply focused vocals, clearly separated instruments, and convincing depth across the stage. NewRecordDay also praises the speaker's unusually broad scale and active imaging, though characterizes the presentation as more forward than laid-back.
Dynamics
94/100
HomeTheaterHifi repeatedly emphasizes tremendous output and the ability to move from delicate passages to huge orchestral impacts with ease. NewRecordDay's comments on crisp transient behavior, clean decay, and an absence of lingering stored energy support that sense of speed and impact.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
95/100
Construction receives unequivocal praise. HomeTheaterHifi calls the build and finish first-rate, while NewRecordDay describes the 106-pound cabinet as beautifully made and found no flaw in its execution; the solid binding posts and trim controls also appear thoughtfully implemented.
Value for Money
88/100
At the reviewed pricing of roughly $6,996 to $10,000-$11,000 per pair depending on finish, reviewers regarded the Signature SE as offering substantial performance for the money; HomeTheaterHifi called it one of the best-sounding speakers heard below $10,000 per pair. The currently supplied $12,000-$14,500 range is higher than those review references, so the available commentary is less direct for today's asking price.
