Focal Sopra N°3

The Ear found the low end weighty enough to make voices sound strong and deep, while remaining clear rather than muddy. It was also reported to provide a firm musical foundation without apparent strain, even when played loudly.

Vocals are described as natural and comfortable rather than overly warm, with piano particularly impressive. The review also praises convincing timbre, tonal balance and strong lower-register body from cello and bass.

Available comments point to a fast, transparent top end that resolves fine percussion detail, including clearly brushed hi-hats. Reviewers provide less extensive direct commentary on treble character than on the speaker's bass, imaging and dynamics.

The Sopra N°3 is repeatedly praised for creating a very large, immersive stage with substantial depth. Audiophilepure says it draws the listener into a giant soundstage and remains convincing beyond a narrowly confined sweet spot, while The Ear heard precise stage activity extending well behind the speakers.

The Ear found dynamics outstanding, praising the speaker's speed, energy and lack of compression with demanding music. It reportedly remained composed at levels that shook the room, while drums and rock benefited from especially convincing drive and impact.

The Sopra N°3 is described as physically imposing at 70kg and uses substantial dual 21cm woofers, a dedicated midrange and beryllium tweeter. Reviewers also note its distinctive, handsome styling, though there is limited direct commentary on fit, finish and long-term durability.

At its roughly $18,000-$28,000 asking price, this is firmly a high-end floorstander competing with premium large-scale designs. Within that competitive segment, Audiophilepure calls its performance a bargain at the price, and The Ear recommends it without reservation for buyers with suitable room space and partnering electronics.
