The Dôme compact loudspeaker has been designed for your Home Cinema installation, and to help you rediscover true musical sound. With a diameter of just 14 cm, it's discreet and won't encroach on your living space. Dôme Flax is equipped with the innovative natural flax composite sandwich diaphragm that has already proved its worth on Aria Evo X high-fidelity speakers and Car Audio Performance kits.
PERFECT INTEGRATION
With a diameter of just 14 cm, Dôme is discreet. It can be placed on a shelf or mounted on a wall or ceiling, for a flexible choice of installation. Round in shape, its design is functional, sophisticated and uncluttered. It comes with black or white lacquer finishes for an elegant, timeless signature.
HOME CINEMA EXPERIENCE
Compatible with the Sub Air subwoofer, the Dôme Flax 5.1 or 2.1 system is the ideal solution for living-room sound systems. These compact loudspeakers are the perfect allies for enjoying your films. Designed as an adjustable "sound spot", they are also an ideal source of music for any living space between 30 and 40 m2. For an even more immersive experience, Dôme Flax complements floorstanding loudspeakers like Aria Evo X, in-wall or in-ceiling solutions (1000 Series, 300 Series, 100 Series) or Sub Air, an active subwoofer.

Focal’s Dôme Flax turns a compact cinema system into a remarkably expansive experience, pairing crisp, refined treble with clear dialogue, neutral balance and convincing effects movement. SoundStage Solo found its premium finish and flexible placement equally persuasive, making this an elegant choice for immersive Atmos sound where space and style matter.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Pros
Exceptionally refined, crisp high frequencies for speakers of this compact size.
Clear dialogue, neutral tonal balance, and consistent timbre across surround and height channels.
Premium-looking aluminum cabinets and high-gloss finish suit modern rooms, with flexible wall, shelf, or stand placement.
&
Cons
The small drivers cannot deliver the weight of larger center speakers on male voices or substantial deep bass.
Satellites can sound strained at high volumes without careful bass management and a higher crossover setting.
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 86/100
This compact system is praised for its unusually refined, lively top end and neutral overall balance. It produces clear dialogue and convincing surround movement, though its small 4-inch drivers cannot provide the weight or deep-bass reach of larger speakers.
Bass
81/100
The system delivers punchy effects, while the included Sub Air can move an impressive amount of air. However, the Dômes themselves are not intended for deep bass: reviewers heard less double-bass presence than from the MartinLogan Motion 4i and noted reduced weight in male voices.
Mid
84/100
Dialogue was clear and easy to follow through the center Dôme, supporting strong intelligibility for film use. The limitation is body rather than clarity, as male voices lacked some of the weight available from larger multi-woofer center speakers.
Treble
94/100
The aluminum-magnesium inverted-dome tweeter is a standout, rendering impacts with crispness and realism. The reviewer found its refinement rare for such a small speaker, with a balance that avoided both harshness and excessive softness.
Soundstage Imaging
90/100
Effects panned convincingly between front, surround, and height channels, while matched drivers kept the tonal character consistent around the system. Surround envelopment improved with setup, turning discrete height effects into a more convincing wash above the listening position.
Dynamics
84/100
The system could make effects such as falling ice sound punchy, and the Sub Air handled demanding engine effects with ease. At a 100Hz high-pass setting, however, the compact satellites sounded strained at high volumes, so careful bass management is important.

Build Quality
90/100
The half-sphere aluminum cabinets, high-gloss finish, and neat matte baffle give the system a notably premium, modern appearance. Connections became securely held once tightened, and the reviewer felt the package carried the visual class expected of the Focal name.
Value for Money
84/100
At $4,290 for the 5.1.2 package, this is a costly compact home-theater solution rather than an inexpensive satellite system. Against compact rivals including the MartinLogan Motion 4i and PSB Alpha P3, it did not lead on deep-bass presence, but its neutral balance, refined treble, discreet form factor, and Atmos-ready package provide a credible premium alternative.
