Acora Acoustics SRC-2
THE CONCEPT
From the beginning, we chose a different path. We asked: what if the cabinet didn’t hold the speaker back, but set it free? That question led us to stone — a material as timeless as music itself. Our precision-crafted stone enclosures eliminate resonance and distortion, allowing every note to emerge with stunning clarity and purity.
Why Stone?
At Acora, performance has always come first. Our pursuit of the most faithful, uncolored reproduction of music led us to take a deep look at a critical — yet often overlooked — factor: cabinet resonance. For decades, wood has been the material of choice for speaker enclosures, used by the vast majority of high-end audio brands. But even with the most advanced construction techniques, we found that wood simply couldn't escape its nature — it always added something to the sound. A subtle coloration. A soft veil over the truth.
We looked further. Aluminum, composites, exotic materials — each with their strengths, but none quite delivering the neutrality and control we demanded. Then we found our answer: natural stone. Stone offered everything we were searching for:
1. Virtually no interaction with the energy from the speaker cones — letting the drivers speak freely.
2. High mass, providing rock-solid stability, enhancing soundstage depth and stereo focus.
3. Unique, bespoke character — no two pieces are alike, making every speaker truly one of a kind.
4. Timeless aesthetic that brings elegance into any home.
It wasn’t the easy path, but it was the right one. Because when the enclosure disappears, all that’s left is the music.
THE CABINET
At Acora, we craft our enclosures from precision-machined natural stone, chosen for its rigidity, mass, and acoustic inertness. These properties allow our speakers to deliver music with exceptional clarity, focus, and emotional depth.
Every cabinet is shaped with meticulous care, resulting in a structure that performs flawlessly and showcases a distinct, timeless beauty. No two are alike — each one is a unique expression of natural elegance. This is where form meets function — and where the music truly comes to life.
DRIVERS
The SRC series is built around a carefully selected and expertly refined driver set, each one modified and perfected by Acora to meet our exacting standards — not just for precision, but for musicality.
The midrange and bass drivers, based on renowned paper cone designs, are individually tuned to deliver natural warmth, dynamic energy, and lifelike tonal balance. Through proprietary adjustments and voicing, we've enhanced their ability to reveal subtle textures and emotional nuance, resulting in a sound that feels effortlessly alive.
In the high frequencies, a beryllium dome tweeter brings sparkling extension, speed, and air, carefully integrated to maintain cohesion and natural flow. Our tuning ensures the treble remains clear and detailed, yet always inviting.
The SRC drivers work in harmony to serve that singular vision: authentic, emotionally engaging sound that draws you in and holds you there.
Tweeter
A carefully selected beryllium dome tweeter, voiced for smooth, extended highs, integrates effortlessly with the system — requiring no resistors in the signal path, preserving clarity, immediacy, and musicality.
Midrange/Woofer
A custom-voiced paper cone woofer delivers natural warmth, fast transients, and deep, articulate bass.Tuned by Acora for tonal balance and dynamic expression, it anchors the music with authority and grace.
Crossover
The SRC crossover is the result of exacting engineering and countless hours of listening. Designed for perfect phase alignment and driver integration, it allows each component to perform at its best — with effortless coherence and dynamic ease. Internally, the layout is optimized for signal purity and mechanical isolation.

The Acora SRC-2 pairs holographic imaging with startlingly free-flowing dynamics, letting dense recordings bloom across a vast, stable stage. Its inert granite cabinet, beryllium tweeter and dual woofers deliver deep, controlled bass, seamless coherence and finely resolved timbre without glare. Tracking Angle found its transparency and musical involvement exceptional, making this a compelling reference-class floorstander.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Pros
Exceptionally expansive, stable imaging with convincing depth and instrument separation, even at high levels.
Deep, punchy and highly controlled bass integrates cleanly with the lower midrange.
Remarkably coherent, neutral presentation reveals fine detail and natural instrumental tone without artificial treble emphasis.
Granite enclosure and carefully executed crossover support unrestricted dynamics and low cabinet coloration.

Cons
Its extreme resolution exposes upstream component issues and bright or brittle recordings rather than smoothing them over.
At 244 lb per speaker, installation and precise positioning require serious practical consideration.
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 97/100
Reviewers describe an exceptionally coherent, neutral and emotionally involving loudspeaker with unusually deep resolution, immense spatial scale and effortless dynamic freedom. Its analytical ability is paired with a natural tonal balance rather than an artificially spotlighted presentation, although poorly recorded bright material is not softened.
Bass
97/100
Bass is repeatedly praised for precision, punch and exceptional integration with the rest of the range. Part Time Audiophile heard control and subterranean reach, while AVshowreports reported strong punch through the vital 50-250Hz region and extension into the low 30Hz range in-room.
Mid
97/100
The midrange is described as exceptionally transparent, coherent and true to instrumental tone. Tracking Angle praised unblurred lower-midrange clarity and fine musical distinctions, while AVshowreports found strings, woodwinds and horns uncannily realistic.
Treble
94/100
The beryllium tweeter is widely heard as linear, detailed and free from obvious brightness or glare. AVshowreports notes that it is accurate rather than forgiving, so brittle recordings remain exposed instead of being smoothed over.
Soundstage Imaging
98/100
Spatial performance is a defining strength. Reviewers report holographic, pinpoint images, exceptional front-to-back depth, stable separation at high levels and a speaker-disappearing presentation that creates a vast, layered stage.
Dynamics
98/100
Dynamic expression receives extraordinary praise, from Tracking Angle's claim of virtually absent compression to Part Time Audiophile's description of unconstrained micro- and macro-dynamic contrast. AVshowreports likewise found the SRC-2 able to pressurize the room and play loudly without strain or glare.

Build Quality
97/100
The SRC-2's massive tapered granite enclosure is described as flawlessly assembled, with near-invisible mitered joints and exceptionally inert construction. Reviewers also note high-grade Scan-Speak drivers, Cardas terminals and a carefully isolated, extensively specified crossover, though its 244lb-per-speaker weight makes installation a serious undertaking.
Value for Money
97/100
Although the listed price is $48,000, the review commentary is unusually emphatic about its competitiveness among elite loudspeakers. Tracking Angle felt its performance would have commanded a six-figure price only a few years earlier, and Part Time Audiophile called its then-$37,000 price “practically a steal.”
